Today Has Been Declared 'Prince Day'

June 7, 2016
Today would have been Prince's 58th birthday, so Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton has declared June 7th to be "Prince Day" in his state.

Dayton wanted to point out that today was about celebrating Prince's music and art, but also about "his many acts of service to his fellow Minnesotans."

"Minnesotans are encouraged to wear purple on Prince Day in honor of The Purple One's enduring legacy."
Before you consider this an amazing honor for Prince, remember that earlier this year the same governor proclaimed it Beyoncè Day on May 23rd.
