Kobe Bryant, Gianna Laid to Rest Last Friday

February 11, 2020

Kobe Bryant and Gianna were buried last Friday, according to various media reports.

According to ET Online, "ET has learned that a private funeral for the two was held in Corona Del Mar, California, last Friday, two weeks after they died in a helicopter crash alongside seven others. The legendary NBA star is survived by his wife, Vanessa Bryant, and the three other children they shared, Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 7 months."

E News also confirmed the story.

Just days past the announcement of the public memorial at Staples Center for Kobe Bryant, and his daughter, Gianna, Vanessa Bryant posted a video of their 7-month-old daughter Capri.

A bittersweet moment, the video shows Kobe's sister Sharia Bryant holding Capri's tiny hands as the toddler starts to stand on two feet.

Vanessa remarks in her Instagram post how much the little girl resembles her father.

"My Koko Bean. She looks just like my Gigi with her daddy’s eyes."

Monday, Bryant opened up in an emotional post about the devastating loss of her husband and daughter, and her unimaginable grief.

"My brain refuses to accept that both Kobe and Gigi are gone. I can’t process both at the same time," Vanessa writes.

Adding, that she wants to share in her thoughts in case there are others who've experienced similar loss.  "God I wish they (Kobe and Gianna) were here and this nightmare would be over," Vanessa writes.

The upcoming memorial follows the last two weeks where the public has gathered at L.A. Live and Staples Center to grieve.

The Staples Center has been the location for other public memorials for such luminaries as Michael Jackson and more recently Nipsey Hussle.
